ICCA welcomes stranger’s act of kindness

A non-Muslim resident of Fayetteville dropped off a reassuring note with a donation at the Islamic Community Center on or about Dec. 8. The ICCA thanks the anonymous writer for her donation as well as her kind letter, which was written in the wake of the San Bernardino shooting and a rise in Islamophobia.

“…I strongly believe that everyone has the right to practice their religion in a safe place no matter what their religion is,” the self-described non-Muslim woman wrote. “I’m sorry for any negativity you may have experienced because of ignorant fear-mongering. Where there’s hate there is a greater amount of love, and you are loved.”

The ICCA community thanks the writer for her kind words. We also welcome and encourage her to contact the ICCA at info@iccatlanta.org. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported on the incident in its paper earlier this week.IMG_0404
